10 Great Term Paper Ideas on PTSD and Suicide

Deciding on the essay style for your paper

When writing an essay on the topic of PTSD and suicide, there are many approaches that you can take. For example, you may wish to look at the differences in suicide rates between two different countries; in which case, a compare and contrast essay may be more appropriate. Alternatively, if you are writing an article that argues either for or against assisted suicide, then an argumentative essay might be more appropriate.

Sometimes, you may be asked to write a paper for which you have already been told which style of essay to use. In this case, whilst you don’t have to decide which style would work best based on your title, you have to do things your way round. This means that you need to think of a title that appropriately fits the requirements of the chosen essay style. Therefore, if you had to write an argumentative paper then you would not be able to use a title such as ‘the differences in suicide rates between two different countries’ as this doesn’t really fit the needs of that style.

Carrying out any research ethically and with sensitivity in mind

An important thing to bear in mind is that any research you do should be carried out as sensitively and as possible, whilst fitting within any ethical boundaries. Whilst this is always the case with any research you carry out, especially with the social sciences, it is particularly important when dealing with delicate subjects, such as suicide or PTSD.

As a result, if you have thought of an excellent topic or idea to write about, but it doesn’t necessarily fit in with acceptable ethical boundaries, then it may be the case it you simply have to think of something different to research and write about.
