College essay writing tips: looking for gaps and problems

In college, your essay writing skills are expected to be better than when you were in high school. For the most part, students that don’t like writing or think they aren’t good at it won’t write anything they don’t have to, and that makes for just as poor of skills as when you were younger. If that sounds like your situation, don’t worry because there are ways to get around being a poor writer, and with time and practice, you’ll get better.

Writing an essay for college can be hard. Many times, it just takes so much work, research and effort into making it good, all for a small portion of your final grade. Whether your essay is worth a lot of marks or not, doing the best you can will improve your overall study experience. Follow these tips to finding problems and gaps in your essay and you’ll have a way easier time finding and correcting them. Most students don’t realize how important editing is, almost more important than the writing of the essay.
