Article Writing Help: Understanding the End Goal

If you are like most of the people out there, then you surely acknowledge the fact that your education is highly important for you and for your future. However, sometimes no matter how much you try and no matter how much you even love a subject, writing an article for a grade can be one of the most difficult things you can do in life (even more so if you are not particularly familiar with this kind of writing). If you want to learn more about article writing and about why it is important to settle a goal in mind, then read the following tips.

  1. Regardless of whether it is an academic article that you are thinking of or just a newspaper article, then you do have to know the fact that all articles out there have one main goal: that of providing the reader with information.
  2. However, this does not mean that this is the only goal of an article and it is important that you find one because this will give you a clear path of writing and it will add coherence and structure to your entire articles, regardless of the field in which you have to write it.
  3. An article’s secondary goal can be that of contrasting certain things, that of impressing the reader, that of shocking the reader, and so on. For instance, you may want to do a research on the Iraqi victims and the article that will result out of it will be both purely informative and touching for the reader (because you will most likely find subjects whose stories are emotional).
  4. The goal of an article is usually mentioned in its introduction or in its abstract, so do make sure not to forget about this. The beginning and the end of the article mainly state the same things, the only difference being that at the beginning of it they are mostly theoretical in the eyes of the reader, but by the end of the article, they become proven facts.

Of course, there is much more to writing articles and to setting the right goals for them, but there are the most important things to keep in mind. Also, when you feel like not having the right words with you, do a bit of free writing and see what comes out of it. Chances are that you will get a pretty good draft out of this.
